-5/7/14 - Other products under development here at AFM and worth mentioning that will be appearing on our website in the near future will be:

Our .45 ACP sub machine gun.  designated the AM45, basically an M4-A1 in .45 ACP.  It will be released initially with a 10.5" barrel.  An integral suppressed version (SD) will be forth coming.  The magazine well on the lower receiver will be machined and wire cut specifically to accept  proprietary steel stick magazines.  This blow back weapon system will be released in a sub machinegun, SA SBR and SA 16" version respectively.

An Italian style stiletto switch blade knife.  This knife will have tool steel handle base panels and switch mechanism, heavy duty pivot pin, very strong and heat treated spring, S30V blade material and G10 golf ball style grip panels.  Why the switch blade?  We say why not... The old school Italian style stilettos are very classic knives that we would like to see in a far more durable and precision configuration.  All steel parts will have a black nitride finish. 

A solid aluminum fully machined water tight dip tobacco can.  Hard coat anodized black with an INTER LOCK SYSTEM (ILS) lid and body with water tight O ring seal to keep your favorite Dip fresh.  We will offer custom engraving and cera-kote finishes in various colors (possibly camo patterns as well), on these Dip cans for a more personal touch.  The bottom side with either AFM or personal nomenclature (name, rank...etc.) and the lid with either our Eagle or perhaps a unit / department insignia or custom logo.  We will work on a lanyard loop to dummy cord it to your gear.  A custom ballistic nylon pouch as an upgrade to attach it to your gear will also be available. - 5/7/14 - Our new barrels and low profile gas block (both set screwed and pinned) will go into production shortly. We are also almost finished a standard 'F' marked front sight base with bayonet and sling swivel lugs.  These will not be forged or cast.  They will be manufactured here in our facility from 4150 CMV ordnance grade steel, machined and wire cut to very exacting tolerances and heat treated for a long service life.  The first examples will be available on our new barrels (7.5", 10.5", 14.5", 16" and 20") with a phosphate finish.  These front sight bases will offer the end user a more refinned and stronger alternative to what is currently available.  Once the new barrels are available, they will come with the low profile gas block, STD FSB or no gas block.  All gas blocks are pinned using hardened straight dowel pins with a precision fit between the GB and the .750 area of the barrel.  We have developed a whole new fixturing system for: the precision fitting of the extension, gas port drilling and attaching the  FSB/Gas Block onto the barrel.

- 5/7/14 - Our new fully machined and wire cut fire control parts (Hammer, Trigger, Disconnect and safety) are currently in production.  For those end users that require something more than and feel that MiM or cast parts are not good enough, we will offer our tool steel heavy duty grade precision fire control parts in either semi auto or full auto configurations.  These parts will come with an indefinate, full, no questions asked true lifetime warranty.  In other words, if they wear out, crack, chip or become deficient in any way under normal firing conditions, we will replace them at no charge...even the shipping to us and back to the end user.  We define normail firing conditions as firing the weapon system...period, regardless of the round count.  They will far out last the weapon system as a whole. 

- 2/13/14 - AFM is evolving. We are in the process of completely changing the way the AR15/M16/M4 series of weapon systems are manufactured. We are on the road to 100% in house manufacturing. We are increasing the quality of material selection, heat treating those materials and utilizing enhanced precision in manufactruring and assembly technology. We are moving in the direction of discarding any remnants of cookie cutter type manufacturing. Our next generation of weapon systems will resemble custom style firearms vs mass produced lower end  product. 

Receivers ard charging handles are being prototyped from forged billet blocks.

Barrels will be enhanced with new linings,

Fire control parts will be machined from tool steel billet stock, wire EDM cut, heat treated for a lifetime of service life and then Ion Bond Diamond Black finished.

Bolts, carriers and extractors will be manufactured from tool steel, heat treated and Ion Bond Diamond Black finished..

All pins and detents will be manufactured in house from tool steel or other materials to prolong and enhance service life with hand fitting with finishing that will be able to achieve operation under very harsh conditions.

Spring technology is being enhanced for a lifetime of service.

Gas blocks will be 4150 CMV or tool steel, pinned on and  heat treated to last far longer than comercial set screwed variations.

Our 4 rail free float fore ends will come in any length and available in aluminum alloy, stainless steel or titanium alloy. All will have finishes that can withstand salt water and very harsh conditions.

We will be introducing a highly adjustable retractable butt stock assembly that can be tailored to varying situations and weapon configurations. It will be all metal and a precision operating mecanism strengthening the weapon system as a whole. A removable adjustable cheek piece with precise and positive marked settings for repeatability will be standard.
