Upper Receivers

AFM in house manufactures premium upper receivers for both select fire weapon system production and the civilian market (semi-automatic). Each premium upper receiver is machined, per government drawing, from the finest 7075-T6 forging available. All forgings are delivered with a CoC and a raw part drawing which assures us that we are receiving the absolute finest and most consistent quality product. Each forging is hand inspected for any structural or cosmetic deficiencies. All pre-production prep work is done by hand. They are machined on state of the art, American made CNC milling centers by highly experienced personnel. Each receiver is completely detail finished by hand, not processed in part tumblers. The forging seam and all sharp edges are completely removed, thus, giving the receiver a functionally consistent, symmetric and cosmetically appealing appearance. M4 feed ramps are standard on all of our upper receivers, unless specified by the customer.

Each upper receiver is then CNC precision engraved one at a time for correct nomenclature and character depth (min .003" - max .009"). Once this is achieved, every single receiver goes through a full and final quality control inspection process and is then prepared for anodizing. All upper receivers are MIL-STD Type III, class II hard coat anodized per MIL-A-8625 ( .001" + / -10%). Custom engraving, both laser and mechanical, is available at an additional cost. 

Great pride and care goes into every upper receiver. This will be apparent to the end user upon inspection of the cosmetic attributes of the receiver or weapon system after final assembly. Cera-kote ceramic gun coatings in various colors, to include; OD (Olive Drab), FDE (Flat Dark Earth), FG (Foliage Green) and FB (Flat Black) are available on special order for an additional cost. Both air cure (C) and heat cure (H) coatings are available. All ceramic based coatings are applied by highly trained individuals with years of experience in the application of spray on coatings in many industries, including weapon system production. Matched upper and lower receiver sets are available on a special order basis
